If I wanted to use Dynamic Forms to create a few forms that when used together became an online application, And then sell this solution to a few more clients, how would I position the tables such that it would be easiest to copy the forms and tables to another DNN website?

I have started by moving the tables that I have made out of the DNN database and into a separate database, but then realized that all the DF tables are in the DNN database. Can I move them to my other database so that my application is portable and can be copied to another DNN site? (Of course I intend to buy and use the developer's copy of Dynamic Forms)

Fearing that you will say that will not work, I am wondering how to copy the entire form from one website to another. I know I can export and import them, however the question and completion events are left behind (unless I am doing it incorrectly). How can I get them copied to another website and still attached to their forms? What guidance can you give to someone who will hopefully take your Dynamic Forms module on the road as a component to a larger thing? TIA - Whetstone

Hi Whetstone... Would the other clients and their web sites already be running on DotNetNuke? For clients and solutions similar to this the best way to do this is to actually do a full backup of the 'Template Site' with everything working and then use that as your starting point for new sites, simply do a full restore of the files and database.

If you do need to move the forms then the IPORTABLE Export/Import should work (and also it should move over all completion events and question events as well) but you would have to configure other parts such as the redirection pages and so forth since the Tab ID's would be unique between sites unless you did a full restore from your template.

    Thanks,

    Chad

Some clients are already using a DNN website. Some have no site at all. Copying the template dnn installation would work for the latter only. That is what I would do. But the folks already using a DNN site will take a long and tedious manual setup. My complete solution involves multiple custom dnn pages with DF forms and reports and other modules. Have you ever had to move all that before to a second DNN portal? Are there any tips? Thanks a bunch. I'll be buying more licenses here soon... I'm banking on it.
