dnn 5.4 / dynamic user directory 4.0 trial version.

i have created a user detail template which contains the [photo] token. this token of course refers to core dnn information rather than dynamic registration which i am not using.

i have configured dud to use dnn profile and user image field = Photo. i have left image location blank as i imagine that it is not pertinent to my configuration since dnn manages the storage of images.

i uploaded an image for a user within dnn - it displays in manage user accounts.

i then added an image tag to the details page with src="http://old.datasprings.com/Portals/0/[photo]. of course this is wrong (since [photo] is only a file id) but so is simply adding [Photo].

what am i doing wrong? i have read numerous other threads on this topic but either they are for use with dynamic registration or were unresolved.

    Hello Tony,

So where and when are you inserting the photo(path to photo) into the DNN Property UserImage?

Is it possible that not a single user has a value in the Profile field? Because if a profile field exists but not a single user has a value for in that profile field then the token simply won't render.

You have to have at least one user with a value in that field.

Please let me know if this helps you.

    Thanks,

    Ryan

dnn 5.4.4 does not have a user profile property UserImage thus it is unclear why it is even an option for use in creating a template for listings or details. it does have a property called Photo which represents a file id. however dud does not seem able to process that data ([photo]) into a rendered image - it simply displays the file id which is not what i want.

on the other hand [userimage] represents a path to something as its value at runtime shows a path. unfortunately it is not clear how it is used in rendering the Photo property of a dnn user.

    Hello Tony,

The token UserImage is a built in Profile Property in Dynamic User Directory 4.0 which gets created when the DUDSchedulerClient is fired off(during installation), your thinking of a DNN Core Property, which is different.

In order to use the UserImage token you will need to embed this into an image tag. After all the UserImage is only a path or a file name, so by using the HTML image tag, in the src attribute, provide the Usermage token as the source and your image should be rendered.

Be sure to overlook the path or else the image won't render correctly.

If you have any questions please let me know.

    Thanks,

    Ryan

Can you provide examples to go with your explanation? I'm having a hard time following what you are describing.

Please include both the HTML and the values for the configuration settings section titled:
"User Image / User Online Image / User Offline Image"
    • Integration Type
    • User Image Field
    • Image Location
    • Image Type

Thanks, I'm trying to get this working but based on your description I'm not sure how it matches up to those fields. A concrete example might help.
