I have a custom field with a name like Work WebSite.

I would like to Display  "My Work Website" and have it link to a the URL contained in the field.

I added the following to the template thinking it would work but it did not. (Source View)

    My Work Website

I tried something similar using the "Chain" link but it didn't work either.

Could you tell me how to accomplish this.

I have done more testing, and what I found is that the links work fine in Detail Template but not in the Item/List template.

For my purposes I actually don't need the Detail Template, so I attempted to create the link in the other.

I can copy working html from the Detail, to the Item and the links won't work.

I am hoping you can help me to resolve this.

    Thanks

    Hi,
I was able to get this working by doing the following. First lets assume you have both "Dynamic Registration" to set up the dynamic field called "My Work Website" and in that field you will be putting "www.theworkwebsite.com" value for each user ( note: theworkwebsite will be like DataSprings or MSN or whatever) in the "My Work Website" field. This field needs to be mapped to core DNN field so that when you go to Dynamic User Directory and go into the "control panel" and in the "directory template" you will see the field for "My Work Website" listed there. In my case I mapped the field to DNN and have [myworkwebsite] listed to the left with all the rest. When you have your mapped field listed there then you can make a literal such as "Work Web Site" as a value in the List/Item Template. What you then do is make an active URL link to that literal which is equivalent to your DNN field. In my case it is [myworkwebsite].

To give you an idea of how this works out in the Directory Template look at the following image:

Then what I have in the search results in Dynamic User Dierctory is seen below.  When I click on Work Web Site (blue) the site redirects to the warnerbros website. I just put the [myworkwebsite] field in this post to show what is in the field:

23 yosemitesam Yosemite Sam www.Yosemite Sam
    c12041f5-c011-4fdd-be51-92e77197d1da.jpg www.warnerbros.com Work Web Site

Important Final Note: This data will be heavily cached so you will need to wait an hour for the scheduler to kick off and see changes.  You can also go to host>scheduler and kick off the scheduler in Dynamic User Directory.

Well I think I am closer.
Right now it looks like my issue is that the field which does exist in Dynamic registration and is linked to a DNN Profile property just simply won't show up in Dynamic User directory.

I have tried changing it's visibility etc. but no go.

Any suggestions regarding what would be preventing the field from showing in DUD?
