Search Fields- How to change criteria?

    I would like to change the criteria for a search field to "Begins with" rahter than the default of "contains", but I just can't fihure out how to do this.

    The help text,

    "Select the criteria for this search definition. The check box's on the left represent the criteria specified for this definition, the radio button on the right sets the default search criteria."

    Is no help at all since I do not see a check box or a radio button.

    Any help is appreciated!

    Hi Donna,
    The way to make this change is to go into the control panel and then choose the 'search fields' icon. This will open up a screen that will allow you to edit your criteria on your search. In that screen you will see different options. You will see field name, criteria, etc. Make sure you are selected on the search criteria that you want to edit from the 'field name' drop down list. Then all you will need to do is change the check box and radio button selection from 'contains' to 'begins with'. Make sure that 'contains' is now unselected. Then click 'update' and exit. Your new search result should now show up in dynamic views.

    Thank you for responding. I wish there was a way for me to post a screen shot to this forum because the problem is that I do not see a checkbox or radio buttion anywhere near the criteria field. It appears as a text box with |Criteria| in it and no way to change it. When I save the seach it shows a combo box in the grid but in the dropdown the only selection availabe is "Conatains".

    Hi guys - if you click "Add Reply" instead of replying in the smaller textbox then I believe you can attach a screenshot. Another option would be to see if you can duplicate the problem under www.betasprings.com (you can sign in as host/dnnhost there). If you can duplicate the problem there we can usually get a patch out quicker.
