I have a DV that list events that a user has attended or is signed up to attend. I want to create a link in the view that will take the user to an Add Event form (created with DF) that is pre-populated with their user info.
If I create a link\button in the list view template to the form with
?DSParam1=[userid] at the end, the button works correctly. The only problem is that the button is listed
n
number of times where
n
is the number of events in the list.
So the logical solution would be to place the button in the Header or Footer template instead of the list template. This presents a different problem though. It appears that the header\footer templates do not understand tokens.
My question is should I be able to do this, and if "No" then why? This is a perfect example of needing this functionality.

Steve, I requested the ability to use tokens in the header and footer templates several months ago. Chad said the request would be added to the features list for the next version release of DL.

That should have read DV for Dynamic Views, not DL.

Hello Walt,
I can confirm that this is on our Queue for Dynamic View enhancements. I don't have an ETA as I'm not certain of which items are going into the next version.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Ryan
