    I'm running DNN 05.04.02 (66)
    User Import ver 2.0.10

    I can import users ok and set their role, but need to generate a password and then email users the username and password

    The email function does not seem to work - log below

    I would use OPt in email but you can't send username and password with that

    All other modules send emails ok

    Can you help - getting desperate

    Hi Vicky,

    Does email work in other areas of the site?  If you go to Admin, Newsletters and send yourself test emails from here, do you receive them?  Please try with you@yourdomain.com and you@somethingelse.com.  Let me know what happens.

    Also, what DNN version are you running?  Thanks!

    Vicky,

    Do you have the Collection 3.0?  If you do, please go to your Snowcovered account and access Interactive User Import 2.10.00 from MyDownloads.

    Let me know if the problem persists after updating your version.  Thanks!

    No that made no difference

    Any other ideas ?

    Is there anyway to send the users the username and password via OPT IN instead ?

    Or any ideas of how to send the 10000 users their login details ?

    Hi Vicky,

    Check this thread out and see if  this Opt In Email solution works for you.  I haven't personally done it myself but Alavri says it worked for him.

    Thank you for that, not sure I want to give 10000 users the same password - but it did give the idea for a solution:

    Import users via IUI - create password
    Export users via IUI - inc username and password
    Use Opt In fields Firstname and Lastname to import username and password and send email that way. - Won't be addressed personally but at least it should work

    I am having this exact same behavior - emails are sent fine from all other modules, but this one isn't sending an email when users are imported, even though the log says that it is.

    From the Interactive import log:
    Setting Email From:xxx
    Sending email message to user: xxx
    Email From: xxx
    Email Name: xxx
    Email Subject: PASSWORD RESET
    Message sent sucessfully!

    However, when I check my mail server logs, there is no record of this email.
