How can I make a field read only on update but writable on initial registration, like the User Name field?

Hi. Well actually the username itself can be readonly on update if you just check the box within general settings (or actually don't check the box) that allows the user to change their username. Keep in mind that for host users this is always going to show though, also for admin users managing an account. For standard users though this would be read-only and not enabled.

Within advanced settings there is also an area to set a field to read-only but I am not sure that there is an option for read-only on update etc...

What I need is an option to specify this type of functionality on any field. Can that be added to the next release?
