    Hi

I have dynamic registration module. Can this module be used instead of dynamic forms? I don't need the user accounts to be created. Just want to collect the data entered and send it as mail to admin.

    Let me know please.

    Thanks
    Aswin

    Hello Aswin,

Dynamic Registration and Dynamic Forms are two separate products for valid reasons. Dynamic Registration is geared more to a user account creation experience. Dynamic Forms is geared more towards user input experiences.

There are many similar features in Dynamic Registration and Dynamic Forms, please review this blog post to get an idea of these product differences:

Let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks,

    Ryan

I frequently use the Dynamic Registration module for forms. While it's true that it's geared to creating new accounts, it works just fine for authenticated users as a robust forms module.

    Hello Steve and Aswin,

Sure however there are limitations when you compare Dynamic Registration and Dynamic Forms. One major thing is you'd need to map the DNN Core fields on your Dynamic Registration for it to work appropriately.

So at minimum you would need to provide a UserName, Password, FirstName, LastName, possibly EmailAddress too, to get the module to work correctly, whether these fields are hidden or not. Dynamic Registration requires that you provide these fields on the Registration form instance in order to operate, and you must map these fields to these Required Profile Properties.

There's extra work involved if you're trying to build a simple Contact Us form with Dynamic Registration.

Steve, I'm quite interested to learn more about how robust you're able to make a form when utilizing Dynamic Registration.

    Thanks,

    Ryan
