Using DNN 4.3.6 with Dyn. Reg. 2.3

 

I have set up a Dynamic Question to assign a Role to a user based on a radio option button selection.  Yes / No.  This is triggered on an initial or update Registration event. Default is No.  Selecting "Yes" assigns the user to the intended role as expected upon registration.

 

I have a Registration event set to "On Update Only"

If User selects the "No" Radio option the User should be dropped from the role.  I assume if No is selected the module is coded to delete the User from the Role selected in the Action Event, but this does not happen.  The instructions on the form also seem to imply this.  The Role is set as a public role if this matters.

Hi. First, I am assuming we are talking about the same role right? For starters you shouldn't have to hae two events for this. You should have one event (I am assuming the first one) and if the criteria is met then the role is either added or maintains the role and if the criteria is not met then the role is removed. You do not need two events. The other area of this which could cause problems is what event fires first. At this time there is no way to set a sort order of events but basically if one event fires after another it could be overwriting the results of the previous event(s). Does this make sense?

Your suggestion to uncheck the "Required Field" checkboxes solved the Password validation problem.  This also solved my Role update problem as I had guessed because the Role update process was obviously not completing without the passwords not validating.
