I recently had to rebuild my web server and transferred my DotNetNuke instance to that new server. One of my portals is running the Opt In Email module, and I can't get it to work correctly. Note that I run my own mail server on the same server called IMail (
http://www.imailserver.com).
When I try to send out a newsletter against ~650 email addresses, only those that utilize existing IMail host accounts go out--the rest do not. When I look at the IMail mail server log, I see an error for each email address that didn't go out, something like this:
<<< RCPT TO:
01:21 16:34 SMTPD(d41f000010071af1) [192.168.100.203] RCPT TO:
01:21 16:34 SMTPD(d41f000010071af1) [x] looking up firstwisconsin.com in HOSTS
01:21 16:34 SMTPD(d41f000010071af1) >>> 550 not local host firstwisconsin.com, not a gateway
01:21 16:34 SMTPD(d41f000010071af1) [192.168.100.203] ERR thehway.com invalid user
01:21 16:34 SMTPD(d41f000010071af1) BaseSession.ClientCloseSocket: closing connection
01:21 16:34 SMTPD(d41f000010071af1) BaseSession.Close: closing session
Note that I see similar error messages within the DotNetNuke Event Viewer:
Message: System.Net.Mail.SmtpFailedRecipientException: Mailbox unavailable. The server response was: not local host mrhandyman.com, not a gateway at System.Net.Mail.SmtpTransport.SendMail(MailAddress sender, MailAddressCollection recipients, String deliveryNotify, SmtpFailedRecipientException& exception) at System.Net.Mail.SmtpClient.Send(MailMessage message) at DotNetNuke.Services.Mail.Mail.SendMail(String MailFrom, String MailTo, String Cc, String Bcc, String ReplyTo, MailPriority Priority, String Subject, MailFormat BodyFormat, Encoding BodyEncoding, String Body, List`1 Attachments, String SMTPServer, String SMTPAuthentication, String SMTPUsername, String SMTPPassword, Boolean SMTPEnableSSL)
The module DOES send newsletters out to the few accounts that already utilize local host names (such as my own, scott@thehway.com). So, I'm suspecting that perhaps this is an IMail configuration issue, perhaps associated with the Mail Relay options (

Can you folks provide any guidance or advice?
