Running DNN 7 Pro in a multi-server environment so the sessionState is set to SQLServer mode to share across the environment.  When I click the View Report button on the main screen, I see the following:

Unable to serialize the session state. In 'StateServer' and 'SQLServer' mode, ASP.NET will serialize the session state objects, and as a result non-serializable objects or MarshalByRef objects are not permitted. The same restriction applies if similar serialization is done by the custom session state store in 'Custom' mode.

[SerializationException: Type 'Dataspring.DNN.Modules.OptInAdvancedEmail.OptInPreviousDistributionTrackingInfo' in Assembly 'Dataspring.DNN.Modules.OptInAdvancedEmail, Version=5.0.1.38044, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' is not marked as serializable.]

    Hi Bob,

    A few quick questions....

    1. Can you let me know the version of DNN you are running on and the version of Opt In Email? You can find the version of DNN under host, host settings and the version of our module under Host, extensions.

    2. Can you tell me if this happens in all browsers?

    3. Do the reports work if you go into the main module/control panel.

    Thanks,

    Chad

    1) DNN 7.0.6 Professional Edition

    2) Yes, this occurs with all browsers

    3) The reports do work from the Control Panel. I was able to view a report for a newsletter in the control panel, then selected the report for the same newsletter back in the main list and got the above error.

So it just looks like the report is not working from the list view. Can this be an easy fix? My client is pretty reliant on these reports.

    Hi Bob,

I am not really sure yet what the exact problem would be... Is this a website where you are potentially changing between the domain such as www.yourwebsite.com and then without the www like just yoursite.com?

Can you tell me if you enable "FireBug" for FireFox if this shows any specific errors within the "Console" portion?

    Thanks,

    Chad

I confirmed in both Firebug and Chrome's dev console that there are no redirects happening.  And since it's a postback, there are no javascript or other errors logged to the console.
