we are inserting 'Manage Subscription' which will place '$(ManageOptIn)' inside our template. Unfortunately when receiving an email this token is not localized (the others work fine; we are using german).

Any help?

What is the text that is being rendered in English? I can check the code and verify if this is using static text or a localized variable.

Also... I am sure you will be interested in the upcoming 4.1 version as its almost ready and fully supports content localization. You will be able to setup specific lists that are only per language, and define the header, email templates, link buttons, and so forth all per language... We are creating a demo of this here:
