    Hi there,

    I've just purchased the last module package and upgraded to version 3 of the Dynamic Forms module and it's looking great, but I want to know how to get rid of the link in the action menu leading to the forums here. It breaks our strict support workflow and is going to cause more confusion than it can possibly resolve.

    Regards,
    Rob

    HI Rob, are you referring to the Resources drop down leading to (User Guide, Community Forums, Demonstration & Tutorials)? If you want to change these so they don't point to anything, on your DNN site, traverse to the following sub-directory:

    c:\inetpub\wwwroot\DNN5.1.0\DesktopModules\Dynamic Forms\App_LocalResources (of course, the actual path may change depending on your DNN version / alias name)

    1) make a backup copy of the file DynamicForms.ascx.resx
    2) edit DynamicForms.ascx.resx and file entries for the following:
    ================================

    Ready to get started?

    ========================================
    Change all the corresponding links to blank, like a href=""

    HI David, thanks for the reply.

    That's how I've done it for previous versions of this module and I've had it linked it to my internal support forum, but the new release has link to this forum on the module action menu and I can't deal with that one. I wouldn't mind if it were only visible to the superuser account (I will after all occasionally use these forums), but not to lower roles.

    I've held off upgrading the live portal for now. Hopefully Chad will have a solution.
    Regards,
    Rob

    HI Rob, after talking to Chad, the only way to disable or change the link on the "Action menu" drop down to point to some other URL is to purchase the code and change it from within the code itself. -- David

    Thanks for the follow-up David.

    That's a real pain and a shame. That puts it out my reach now. I'll have to retain the old version.

    I'm hoping all the other modules in the update (I bought the full package) haven't also gained these links.

    It's just totally inappropriate in a managed business CMS to insert support links to individual product supplier sites; because no one here is going to start supporting any of my users who would likely follow the link and ask for something entirely unrelated. It's simply wrong.

    what a pain in the bum

    Please take it as a development request to drop the link in a future update.

    Regards,
    Rob
