I need to allow for 700 words in a text box on the form. It stops at 536 words.

How can I increase the amount the database will accept?
    thanks.

Hi, what version of Dynamic Forms are you running? Also, is this textbox field a multi-line textbox field? Are you saving it to your own SQL table or using the DF defaults? -- David

    Version 3.00.10
using the multi-line textbox with the defaults. The client needs a survey form with several textboxes(one for 500 words, 2 for 200, and one for 700).

Hi, if you look at the SQL table "dynamicforms_questionresponse", and check the column "Response", what is it set to? I believe it should already be set to nvarchar(4000) characters. Can you verify on your system?

also verify that the stored procedure "dynamicforms_adddynamicresponse" and "dynamicforms_updatedynamicresponse" also sets the "Response" column to nvarchar(4000) as well. -- David

    thanks for your response -
The "Response" field in DynamicForms_QuestionResponse is nvarchar(4000) and allows for nulls. Both stored procs also use nvarchar(4000) for the "Response" field.

The text we are looking at that gets cut off at 3956 characters with spaces.

Is it possible to change the nvarchar to varchar which would double the storage?

Hi, are you using SQL 2005 or SQL 2000? If you are using SQL 2005, you can change it to ntext which is unlimited characters long. Otherwise, if you are using SQL 2000, change it to nvarchar(8000) instead or nvarchar(6000) depending on your needs. -- David
