    Hello,

I am using the trial version of DF in a DNN 5.02 environment. At first sight this module is exactly what we need. I have a few (basic - I guess) questions before buying:

    General:

    1. What is exactly the difference in the several license options Standard versus Enterprise?
    2. If we buy it with source does this also mean we can utilize the pdf creation?
    3. What are the ambitions of this module? Will a new release be available soon? (I saw some postings where version 4 is mentioned...)

    Technical:

    1. Is it possible to conditionally set up the content of a PDF?
When there is a form with for example two fields: a checkbox and a text field. The text fiels is only visible if the checkbox is checked. In the pdf/email I only want to see the contents of the textbox if the checkbox is checked.
    2. Are there templates for different views of the same form?
I guess almost all is done using css stylesheets. Since this can be a hell of a job, i wondered if some display examples are available.
    3. Are there limitations if uses in a DNN 4.x environment?

Thanks in advance for your response.

    Have a nice X-mas!

    Arjan

    Hi Arjan,

We have a lot to cover here so let me see if I can answer your questions:

    General:

    1.  Standard vs. Enterprise is explained here.

    2.  The completion event to create a PDF is a feature of the module which you can use  without having to buy the source code.  The source code is recommended if you want to alter or customize the code beyond what is already offered by the module.

    3.   There's a Dynamic Forms 3.x that's tentatively scheduled for early January.  We are constantly looking for new ways to enhance the product and we will likely have another major DF release in 2010.  You can see our UPgrade Policy here.

    Technical:

    1.  If the text field will be hidden until the checkbox is checked, then  it will remain blank until it is displayed.  In the PDF, the token will not be replaced unless there's a value in it.

    2.  I think you got the CSS question...

    3.  I believe the minimum requirement for Dynamic Forms 3.1 is DNN 4.5 and should be no problem if you have that at least.

Thanks for your questions.  Merry Christmas to you too!

    Hello Candace,

Thanks for your quick response. I will buy the standard edition. Can I use this license to develop on a local machine (localhost) and deploy to a production environment or do I need two licenses?

    Greetings,

    Arjan

    Hi Arjan,

Yes, a standard will be ok with a localhost and a production site.  If your production and development sites are both live on the web at the same time, then you'll need 2 licenses.  Thanks for your business!
