    I there a way out to execute a stored proc. on exiting a textbox to find out if the value already exists. I would like warn the user that the value is duplicate once the focus comes out of the textbox.

How can I do this. Any help will be appreciated.

HI, I know you can use SQL Validation on a textbox field (calling a stored procedure and checking if it exists or not) but that is usually done after form submit. I don't know of a way to check if a value for a textbox field exists after coming out of focus of it though. The only way to perhaps attemp this is using client side javascript.

The problem with SQL validation is it's on the server side which is after form submit. In your case, you would need client side javascript but I don't know how to check if a value already exists in an SQL table somewhere.

Does anyone on the forum know how DNN implements there AJAX USERNAME check? This would work the same way if someone knows the code to the AJAX USERNAME check. - David
