I have a date item that I have checked Use Regular expression on.  I am using the following to confirm entry is correct:

 

^\d{1,2}\/\d{1,2}\/\d{4}$

 

The validator is not recognizing this.  I typed in my name and it went right through.  Are there any other settings I am missing?

 

Do I have to have required enabled as well?  Or is this additional?

A few things. First are you testing this with I.E. or Firefox? Depending on your server configuration you might need to modify your web.config file to allow FireFox to work for ASP.NET validation controls such as the regular expression.

More importantly, verify that you have Client Side Validation checked within general settings.
