I'm trying to clone a question with radio buttons. When I clone the question, the option list is there, but when I save the question, the option list disappears - no radio buttons.

I'm running DNN 4.5.5 and the latest version of Dynamic forms.

I've tried just updating the field and I've tried hitting the save on the list options first, then updating the field - neither works.

Hi. Well we can for sure duplicate this issue. I have not determined whats causing it but we have logged it as a bug and at the very latest it will be released in the next major release. If its critical and you are cloning questions on a very regular basis I would suggest using the SQL Option along with the DNN Lists (create a list of your options and use SQL, then when you clone the question it will just use the same SQL and you won't have to worry about the bug). If its not critical thanks for bringing this up and its on our radar.

This was the behavior I was seeing that I mentioned in another post.  I would clone a checkbox group or a listbox group and save it.  It would return to the form but the new option was not there.  I tried it several times.  After cloning, I also noticed that when I clicked on any of the question options, it would immediately drop back to the form.  When I finally scrolled down the form page a bit, that's when I saw the GUID error. (A critical error has occurred. GUID should contain 32 digits with 4 dashes (......).

I'll bet if you scroll down after submitting your newly cloned item, you'll see the same error.  I happened to have been working on the module in an upper level pane, but the error is posted into the 'content pane'.

 

As mentioned in another post: I found that the best way to handle drop down selections (especially when using the same drop down items for multiple questions) is to create a separate small table of the drop down options and then use an SQL query to populate the drop down list(s). Cloning is not an issue if done this way.

I am experiencing this same problem. I am trying to add a bunch of Likert scale questions where the option label is text, but the option value is a number. If I use the SQL workaround, is there a way to specify separate option labels and option values in the table, instead of having to change it each time in the advanced option settings?

We have been using the SQL workaround for nearly about six months now. We are now allowing users to add dynamic forms to their webpages and SQL tables for each cloned question is no longer a viable option. Has there been an update to fix this issue that I am unaware of and/or code to disable the cloning feature.

Hi. Yes as far as I know this has been fixed, what version are you currently running on? This thread was over a year old and from my testing here this was fixed and is testing ok in the latest 2.7 release.

I'm running into the same problem with cloning a Combo Box using 3.30.61 on DNN 5.4.4.
