When I fill in the form on a live site and then select submit it takes ~ 2 minutes to complete the submission and render the confirmation page. This is way to long. Is there some issue causing this?

I am using forms version 3.30.50 and DNN version 5.04.04

Hi. Well there are a few problems here... I think the biggest issue is that maybe you have an email event and there were some bugs within DNN 5.4.4 related to email. Can you tell me if you don't have an email event that the form submits properly?

    Please review this blog post:

    Thanks,

    Hi Chad,

The forms respond normally when I remove the attached file on the email that the site visitor gets if they request it. The form still has 3 completion events after the form is submitted. One going to the visitor, one going to the owner of the site, and one is a redirect to a Thank You page on the the site.

It seems to be with the completion event that has the attached file. I have done this before on other sites and haven't had this issue.

Did you check out the blog post? This issue should go away when you upgrade to 5.5.1. It was based on some specific email issues that came about with the 5.4.4. release of DNN.

    Thanks,

    Chad

    Hi Chad,

We upgrading the site to the latest instance and the problem is still there. Any suggestions to try?

Hi.. Well... The file upload field could make a difference but it would depend on how large the file is. Is the file you are uploading 20k, 2 mb or 10 mb? Whenever you upload a file it can take longer for the file upload.

Are you also attaching the file to an email event? If so that can also take some time for the email to be processed.

    Thanks,

    Chad

    Hi Chad,

Yes I have an event with a file attached if the site visitor requests it. I have done this on others sites and there isn't a delay to process the form submission.  I have multiple pages with forms with this and the files sizes range from small to large 8MB but it takes just as long with the small files <1MB as the large files.
