    Hi,

Is it possible to have each question on its own page with a back & next option?

    Hello,

I would recommend overlooking Demonstration 31 at

    http://www.datasprings.com/formdemos

This demonstration uses a forward/backward navigation functionality.

You can even download the demonstration so you can see what is going on under the hood.

If you have any questions please let me know.

    Thanks,

    Ryan

I am attempting to do that but having trouble with the back button.

I have this code in an html button.

    window.location = "/tabid/66/default.aspx?Update=Yes&DSParam1=" + $(DSParam1);

when clicked, the page reloads but it does not redirect. How do I find out why?

    Hello sschlichter,

What Dynamic Forms version are you using?? If you're using Dynamic Forms 3.4 then you need to make sure that HTML is included anywhere in the short name of your back button. This only works in Dynamic Forms 3.4 or any patches higher.

For instance acceptable short names for this feature:

    ButtonHTML
    HTMLBackButton
    BackHTML

    Invalid short names:

    BackButton
    CustomButton
    etc...

So be sure that you're fulfilling both of these requirements:

    1.) Using Dynamic Forms 3.4 or higher(patches like 3.4.1, 3.4.2, etc)
2.) You include HTML in the short name of your question field

If you have any questions please let me know.

    Thanks,

    Ryan

It appears that I am meeting those requirements.

The Button's short name is HTMLBackButton

the Dynamic Forms version is 3.40.1.0 / DNN 5.5.1

I have 4 different pages where I have placed a back button and none of them work. (whatever I am doing, I am consistent). I have a strange recollection of them once working but I cannot say for sure.

    Hello Steve,

I have setup a simple example with all of the logic built in for multiple paged functionality.

Please take a look at this page:

To login please use the following credentials:

    host / dnnhost

If you have any questions please let me know.

    Thanks,

    Hi Ryan,

    Thanks for the demo.

It appears to me that I am doing the same thing but the back button does not go anywhere.

I have done the exact same thing on another instance and it works just fine. is there a way to debug or can some other error (like on an initial SQL data bind ) that would cause it not to work?

    Hello Steve,

First thing I would recommend doing is:

upgrade your Dynamic Forms to the latest patch, I believe it's now Dynamic Forms 3.4.3.

Initial SQL data bind shouldn't prevent the HTML back button from working. And yes, I'll give you two ways to debug your form:

    #1
Use FireBug in FireFox and see if any immediate JavaScript errors pop up, if something does pop up paste it in here so I can take a look at the error.

    #2
Add this additional query string name/value pair to the URL:

    www.yourSite.com/default.aspx?Debug=True

Let me kow if any of these techniques unravel any issues.

    Thanks,

    Ryan
