Is there a way to make a field required based on another field's response? For example: If the user chooses an item from a dropdown list they will be required to enter a quantity for that item in the quantity text box.

I'm not exactly sure what your exact work flow is but I'll take a stab at answering your question.

Basically you'll have a question that's hidden until forced visible by a question event, but this field also is required.

So lets say you have a question event that will fire when you select a value from your drop down list. Now that the required field that was hidden is now visible, the required validation will take place.
