I try to create several surveys in which the user should be able to choose between five options ranging from "strongly disagree" to "strongly agree" for quite a lot of questions. Gridview seemed like the right choice for this.

I need to make several Gridview Field, but I don't want to go over the process of adding the five options to each Field (all the "Processing..." moments in between making it a rather lenghty process), so I have created a Gridview Field called "Scheme" that only contains the five options. My plan was to clone this field for each block of questions, so that I only had to add the actual questions and not the options.

This does not seem to work. When I try to clone the field, all the options (from "strongly disagree" to "strongly agree") have an undefined value and text, and when I try to add the field, I am redirected back to the form that contains the following error message:

    Critical Error.
Guid should contain 32 digits with 4 dashes (xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx).

Is this a possible bug? Is there another way of doing what I try to do?

    Thanks in advance,
    Marc

Another issue: Gridview seems to destroy the results of my form when I try to export them to Excel. All the HTML code of the tables is exported as well, while I only need the results. Is this normal?

Is there someone with any thought on this subject, or simply experience with it that could help me further?

    Thanks in advance.

This is my last try: is there really nobody who ever tried to export Gridview results to Excel? If so, how did you make sure that the results were formatted correctly?

    Thanks!

Hi there... I do know that the Dynamic Forms module has some limitations when it comes to Data Grid and GridView data types, there are listed within the Dynamic Forms Known Issues within the user guide and forum I believe.

So for these field types the data is always saved as the full HTML table that is saved for the field. This is why these field types also cannot currently support "Edit" and "Update" options for these fields.

Are you trying to keep all of the HTML or are you trying to get Excel to list each specific entry within its own row? I do know you can try out Dynamic Views which has a built in integrate for Dynamic Forms data and can utilize its own HTML Template for both the Item/Detail template along with a PDF component and option to export to PDF which would include the PDF.

    Thanks,

    Chad
