If you are editing a completion event e.g. SQL and click on the Update Settings rather than Update Event then the event settings you are working on dont get saved which is just sooooo annoying. Any chance this could be considered in a future version, maybe a warning or a question to ask if you want to save the event settings etc.

Yes a warning would be nice in the next UI... This came up around version 1. When it came to questions so we did eventually always run the save question routine upon updating the settings but not vents question events etc... I think a warning is best though since a user might not think they are saving the event after clicking the update settings button.
