I have noticed that if you set the default value for a country fields, for example "United Kingdom" it works fine when it is the first time you enter data but when you do an initial bind to read the data back in to the field it still defaults, in my example it says "United Kingdom" and not the value that the user changed the country to when they previously saved the form. Not sure if I am doing something wrong or if this is a bug. Using latest public release.

I know that DF uses the standard html max length for single line text, but it would be really useful if this could also be done for multi line text fields as I have just realised that it is blowing my SQL update/insert and user changes are not being saved. One solution would be to disable the ability for a Max Length value to be entered for anything other than a single line text field (simple but not great) or for DF to automatically generate Javascript (with an option for the user to disable this feature) which would limit the max length. In the mean time I have used a regex expressions "(?s)^.{1,299}$" which at least allows me to throw an error if the length is too long.

    Hi Nathan,

Hmm... I am not aware of the SQL Binding feature not working with the country field but its possible this is just something that has not been reported. Are you also using the DNN Region field or just DNN Country? If you are just using the DNN Country field then a possible work around might be to use a combo box field instead of the DNN Country field. The other option is that maybe it is storing a value like UK instead of United Kingdom and then from there it is looking for the TEXT instead of the VALUE for the binding (or the other way around?).

On the other issue... The problem here is that HTML Textbox fields in general (when using the MaxLength property) do not allow a setting such as this. So this isn't really something we can control directly... We do offer a way to do this if you check out and implement the demonstration #7 here:

    Thanks,

    Chad
