I have an entry form for a tournament. By viewing the form results it was possible to Edit or Copy or the form.
Edit however never allowed you to change and record any changes, and logging in as the organiser overwrote any entrant information when using copy. The form was  duplicated  with incorrect info and 1 set of results had to be deleted.
The introduction of the facility to email the entrant to View or Edit their form seemed the answer to my prayers.
However, although the entrant can now "Edit" his own submitted information, using the edit option, this still copies the existing form so you still end up with a duplicate set of results for that entrant. This is "Copying" not "Editing" - One step foward but not the solution. Does anyone have any answers

    Hello Arthur,

I would recommend using Dynamic Views to report off of your Dynamic Forms submissions. However I feel that you should create a table to house all of the information submitted with your Dynamic Form.

Then build a Edit URL in your Dynamic Views template that will take you back to the Dynamic Form with additional querystring parameters. These parameters would enable you to place the form in edit mode. You can download the Dynamic Views 3.0 trial version from this link:

    www.datasprings.com/products/dnn-modules/dynamic-views/dynamic-views-trial

To get a Dynamic Form and Dynamic View to interact this way it takes several steps to configure, however this is the best solution for data integrity and extracting data.

If you have the time to attend one of our training seminars, I would recommend attending the "Pairing the DYNAMIC VIEWS module with DYNAMIC FORMS module!" training. This will resolve so many questions you may have:

    http://www.datasprings.com/support/training

I believe we're teaching the one I mentioned on July 16th at 10 EST - 11:30 EST. Attending this session will allow you to catch up to speed with the best techniques when using Dynamic Forms, storing form submissions, and reporting off the information.

Let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks,

    Ryan
