I need to disable fields and then re-enable them.  I want to keep the history linked to the question so I don't want to delete and recreate.  I also don't want disabled fields to post empty results to the response table otherwise I could just hide the field. 

Can I do this?

I can verify that with JavaScript you'll be able to enable or disable your questions. This becomes useful if there are certain conditions in which a question needs to be disabled or enabled.
