    I have two forms , the first " combo box" to select a product category with a SQL Driven Option. I pass the variable ( UniqueCompletionID ) in my second form for a variety of sub-categories , also with a SQL query, but it is impossible for me to pass the parameter ( UniqueCompletionID ) in my second SQL query .

    Will you help me ?

    Thank you.

    Hi. How specifically are you trying to "Pass" this variable. When you use the variable in the next form, are you using ' marks (tick marks) around the variable? Are you referencing it as '$(UniqueCompletionID)'? You might review our form demos, I think we handle this on a couple of the multi-page forms at http://www.datasprings.com/formdemos.

    Thanks,

    Chad

    I have this same issue. I am passing several fields from one form to the next - and while I can make them show up on the second form by naming a question field the same as I did on the first - I can't reference them in SQL no matter what I do.

    For instance, I have a value called accountName on my first form. On my second form - I can show accountName by naming a field accountName. However, I can't use the statement "Select DefaultValue = '$(accountName)'" or "Select DefaultValue = $(accountName) on the second form. That also means I can't add up values from the first page on the second page. I have made certain to enable the retrieve values from session variable for this question and am somewhat at a loss for what else to do. The same issue happens on question events. I can reference all my fields except the ones that are carry overs from the first form.

    This issue has prevented my being able to use Dynamic Forms to create a multi page form that can query a table based on records passed between pages.

    To illustrate, I created 2 pages: Test Page 1 and Test Page 2.

    On Test Page 1 I added 2 fields, First Name and Last Name and then successfully passed them to Test Page 2 as session variables. They show as expected on Test Page 2.

    I then tried to use the fields First Name and Last Name on Test Page 2 as I might other fields in which values had been entered. This is where it no longer works.

    I created a field called "Show First Name Again", set it to receive session variables and tried twice to use a SQL Statement to declare a default value(one and then the other when the first didn't work):

    Select DefaultValue = $(First Name); and Select DefaultValue = '$(First Name)';

    Neither of these works, though the second passes $(First Name) as a string (as one would expect in SQL).

    If this is expected behavior, I'd expect it to be mentioned in the documentation. If its not, it seems a pretty large bug.

    Its important to me, because in my forms, I pass values that allow me to grab a primary key from a table that is populated on submit and use it to populate the second form. Or rather, I would - except there is no way to reference those values to do so.

    Is there another setting I am missing somewhere that needs to be set? It appears that my settings precisely match the demonstration module.
