I am very new to Dynamic Forms.  I'm not a DNN programmer.  I have not been able to find an answer in the Dynamic Forms User Manual or on the Forum.  What I want is to provide a page for the user to print when they submit the form - the page should have their answers/content on the form.  Is there a way to do this?  I am using Dynamic Forms 4.1.

I appreciate any help I can get on this!!

    Thanks,
    Winona

    Hello Winona,

The answer is yes, Dynamic Forms can achieve this. However this is a very open ended question.

You could do one of the following:
1.) Use the View form Results feature to view the submission values of the user's form submission. Customize the Template of View Form Results, so you can add a Button that embeds JavaScript to handle the print feature.
2.) Use a Display after initial save message to user, then use Tokens to make this message Dynamic. Then provide a button that runs JavaScript to initiate a print.
3.) Create a new page and redirect the user to the new page with their information. You can pass a unique ID tied to their submission which will enable you to extract all other values that have been stored. On this page, add a button with the ability to print using JavaScript.

Please review, test and let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks,

    Ryan

Thanks for replying, Ryan. I probably should have broken down my question into two parts.
    1. Getting a Form Results page for the user
    2. Giving them the ability to print that page

So, let me try to solve question #1 first. I would love to direct the user to the View Results page as you suggest in #1 in your reply. However, I do not know how to get the user to the View Results page. I've even looked in the manual. Just so we are talking about the same view - I'm thinking this is the page you get when you click on on the link "View Results" in the table on the "View Form Results" page. That table sits on the page you get to when you click on "View Form Results" under Question Wizard and Advanced Wizard in the Dynamic Forms Module (Dynamic Forms Version 4.1.). Hopefully that makes sense. And if you can either tell me how to get the user to that view or point me to some instructions somewhere, I would be very grateful.

    Thanks,
    Winona

    Hello Winona,

You can specify under Module Configuration which security roles can have access to this section of the Dynamic Form.

The important part is to take note of how the View Form Results section works. Firstly, notice how the URL looks when you're viewing all results of the Dynamic Form.

Then View a single record and note the way the URL looks for the submission that you're viewing. There's a structure of the URL using Querystring parameters that lets Dynamic Forms know that the user is requesting to view a particular result.

You should just study and recognize how the URL parameters are changing when viewing different results. You can then build your own Dynamic URL to allow a user to Dynamically view a specific result.

Unfortunately you're not going to find out how to perform this functionality in the DF User guide, blog posts or Form Demonstrations on our site.

Perhaps I should dedicate the time to perform such an action.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks,

    Ryan
