I'm using Dynamic Forms 4.10.4 on a DotNetNuke 6.2.5 website.

I'm trying to create an Email Completion Event with form tokens used in the From, Subject and To fields as well as the Body of the message.

The module's on screen help says:
    • Include these parameters below in your email to, subject, or email message. These parameters will be replaced with the email is sent."

The Dynamic Forms user manual says, for example,:
    • From Email Address– enter the from email address for this email event. The from email can either be static, such as ‘host@yoursite.com’ or it can be dynamic based on a fields response. To base the field on a users response you would use the short field name in between the parentheses, such as $(YourFromDynamicField).

I find that they are only replaced in the body of the message. They are left "as is" if used in the From, To or Subject fields.

For example, if I submit a form with this:
    • From Email Address: Larry@CompanionSoftware.com
    • From Email Name: $(UserID)
    • Email To: Larry@CompanionSoftware.com
    • Email Subject: $(Request_FullResults)
    • Body: User $(UserID) has made the following action request:

      $(Account_FullResults)
      $(Note_FullResults)
      $(Request_FullResults)

    I get the following email:
    • From: $(UserID)
    • To: Larry@CompanionSoftware.com
    • Subject: $(Request_FullResults)
    • Body:User 1104 has made the following action request:

      Action Account #: 000123456

Action Note: This is a note

      Action Request: Request to Hold
In scanning the forums, it appears that this same issue has been written about in other threads including:

Am I doing something wrong? Does this feature work in DF 4.10.4?

    Hello Larry,

$(Token_FullResults) isn't recognized as a valid token within the Subject line of an Email Form Completion Event.

You can use the Token format of $(Token) only. I believe that the From Email Name is something that expects a hard coded value and doesn't have the capability to render a Dynamic Token value.

You can use the other formats of tokens inside of the Body/Content section of the Email Form Completion Event:

    $(Token_FullResults)
$(Token_Text) <-- Combo Boxes, Radio Buttons, Checkboxes only.
    $(Token_FieldID)
    etc...

Please let us know if you have any questions.

    Thanks,

    Ryan
