    How do I send a http silent post to a DF module from an HTML module Silently?

    So far I have created a link with the required parameters including &SPost=True. When I click the link, I am taken to the form page and the form is doing what I programmed it to do just fine.

    What I would prefer is to be able to send the post to the url without actually going to the form page. Silently, without the user seeing all that motion. The user should stay right on the page on which they were when they clicked the link.

    I can't send this post from a Dynamic Forms module. I need to send it from an html module or a report module.

    Thanks in advance. - Mark Buelsing

    Hello Mark,

    I would recommend using the jQuery.AJAX() function to send a POST to a Dynamic Form. This is jQuery:

    jQuery.ajax({
    url: 'www.yoursite.com/DynamicFormPage.aspx?SPost=True&Querystring1=Value&Querystring2=Value',
    success: function(data) {
    $('.result').html(data);
    alert('Load was performed.');
    }
    });

    You can learn more about this function here:
    http://api.jquery.com/jQuery.ajax/

    Let me know if you get this working.

    Thanks,

    Ryan

    Thanks Ryan. How do I use this code? I'm completely new to this. Paste it in the html view? I'm sure there is more to it than that.

    Hello Mark,

    First you'll need to tailor this code to work specifically for your needs. Secondly, you can embed this into an OnClick event of an HTML Button or Hyperlink within some sort of module template. Then you'll need to test the post by checking to see if the posted information is being saved in the database.

    Most common would probably be the DNN HTML module. Or you could use Data Springs Tailored Text/HTML module.

    Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks,

    Ryan
