Hi,
I've setup my form for viewing results as described in section 7.45 of the manual. I don't see any UI changes which allow the form to display in results view. Is there a button or something that is supposed to display for the user to change over to results view? What am I missing?
Thanks, Tony

Hi Tony, If enabled, the user should see the Results either at the top or the bottom of the form. Let me ask you a few questions: 1. What is your exact module version? 2. What is your DNN version? 3. What role did you authorize to view results? 4. Did you set this display above or below the form? Thanks! Candace

1. Dynamic Forms: Ver:4.10.4.23731 2. DNN 7.1.0 3 I created a Manifest role and put 1 user into it which I use to login. 4. The only option I saw in section 7.45 - "Display results directly within user-facing form display" I tried this and all it does is display the records data down the page, which is not what I wanted. I thought that turning on the results would give a button or something similar to allow the user to switch to the View Form Results view. |

Thanks for the details, Tony. The feature only allows for results to be displayed for viewing. What is the workflow that you're trying to achieve? I may be able to suggest other options if I understand the bigger picture. Thanks! Candace

I would like the users to be able to view and download the results into an XLS file just like the view results page allows. Did I misunderstand the manual section 7.45? 7.45 Managing the access rights for form results The users with the “view” (non-admin role) rights can also be allowed to view, edit, manage templates, export, and purge form results. In order to start managing the rights for accessing these options, click “Module Configuration” and then choose “View Results Options/Security”. |

Hi Tony - This feature is working as it was originally designed to do (something where maybe a user who is adding comments to a form, and you would then see those comments under the form where the user filled the form out etc...). In this particular case, the closet you would come to offering the features you described would be to add an instance of Dynamic Views under the Dynamic Forms module. So then you can have more options to filer the results, the item template and also the ability to export to XLS or PDF etc... Thanks, Chad

Hmmm...that's curious because I found the thread below that said that this functionality is available. Also section 7.45 of the Forms manual states: "The users with the “view” (non-admin role) rights can also be allowed to view, edit, manage templates, export, and purge form results." Am I misreading all this information?? http://www.datasprings.com/dnn-modu...ess/#20839 |

Hi Tony, This is a separate feature giving a user with another / separate security role the ability to go "into" the main view form results. This main view form results has other enhanced features such as the ability to export the excel, change and mange the template, search view form results etc. So if you want to give users the access to go into the main view form results but not have access to other features such as the ability to manage questions, module settings, etc... I hope this clarifies the differences... This is a feature that is offered, just as long as you are not trying to have this on the main form page. Do you have the option to select the security role? Maybe the sections changed (could be over time because the user guide changes all of the time). So the feature to have the module form results on the bottom is one feature (that I thought you were talking about) and this is a separate feature (which does exist as a feature and you should be able to). What security role do you want the ability to have access to the view form results area (just as an admin would?). Is it ok with you that they also click a hyperlink to go into that area (just like a standard admin would)?). Thanks, Chad

Hi Chad, I'm sorry it wasn't clear sooner. Yes, I would like to allow our Manifest security role to be able to view and download just as the Admin can. A hyperlink is fine and I thought that was what I would see. Is this already available and I'm just not seeing it? Thanks, Tony |

Hi Tony - Well it should be showing up within the module menu based on the security role. If this is not showing up then you will need to create one. You can create it by just going into the view form results and copy/pate that URL into any HTML module or anything you want (then also set the module security for that module to be for that same security role). -Chad

Hi Chad, I finally got it working. :-) I like the HTML link better than the drop down menu because it is more intuitive for our internal users. Thanks so much for helping me through this. Tony |
