Hi, im still having problems getting the output of validation working as expected.

 

Using server side and javascript, i get say an "*" appear next to invalid fields but the validation results above all say "* Required field" and not the text i enter in "Required Field Text: " field. If i turn off client side and leave as server side, then i get the correct validation summary above with the text i enter in the "Required Field Text: " field but i don't get the "Required Field Error (i.e. *): " appear next to each invalid field.

 

But if i use a regular expression validation, it works as expect when both client and server side is set, i.e. i get the correct text appear above the form and i also get the "*" appear next to the invalid field.

 

Can you explain what i need to do or is there still a problem with the validation output?

Dan. So you have somehting entered in both Required Field Text and Required Field Error Text within the question settings? Can you duplicate this on www.betasprings.com?

Hi, i've duplicated this on the beta springs form. I also notice that the Reg Ex doesn't work unless client side is enabled. Im confused as the combination of client and server side seems to effect the functionality of the validation but i can't seem to get it to do what i want. When programming in .net2 i can use the validation controls and validation summary to get what i want, i.e. Summary above form with correct text and also an inline warning next to the field such as "*". Can this not be done with the dynamic forms?
