Hi, I've got a bit of a problem with a form I'm creating.  In the form is a list box with several names which act as the "Option Text" while each name has got a different "Option Value" which happens to be the email address of that person.

I'm trying to set up a form completion event that sends an email to the email address in that option field.  However when I put in the short name in to the email I end up with the person's name rather then the value.  How can I specify inserting the value instead of the regular name?

    Thanks

    Hi Gerald,

In your email event, if you specify the user response, then you can also specify the TO email address without having to rely on the option value. Please try this and see if it works for you. Thanks!

    Hi Candace,

I already specify one email address that all emails go to but I would need to specify the one that is attached to the name that the user clicks on and this could change with each user, so I'd have to have a dynamic field in the To email address.

You'll need to set up separate email events per user response.   Check out this DFORM page on our test site, www.betasprings.com (use host / dnnhost to log in).  Is this what you're trying to achieve?

That's somewhat what I need to do, however, my big problem is that I'm not sure how to access the value field of a list box item since I have quite a few people in that list box each with their own email address.  Is there any way to access that value field and put it in an email or do I have to create some sort of "invisible question" whose answer depends on that list box response?

Not sure I understand your question.  Using the $(ShortName) for the listbox will access the option value which is what I did on that DFORM page.  Can you set up a sample page in www.betasprings.com so I can see (use host / dnnhost to log in).  Then let me know what your page name is.  Thanks.
