    Hi -

I read through the documentation concerning the facebook setup and I have a question concerning user creation.

    My Setup

I have a home page similar to facebook where I have a simple registration form that contains fname, lname, displayname, email and password. I am automatically creating the username using the email address. I redirect to the users member profile upon completion of the registration.

On the same page I have the dynamic login module with the facebook connect button.

    Questions/Scenario

I am a new user to my site and I click the facebook connect button, I sign in to facebook and approve the app, does DL register the user on my site using these credentials? In the DL Facebook settings I selected facebook email address for user creation type. What does this do?  Is there any conflict given the face that I have DR automatically creating the userid using the email address?

I wonder if I should have unique email addresses turned on because what happens to facebook connect if I have multiple accounts on my site using the same email address and that person connects to facebook? which one does it choose?

Thanks -- great addition to module!!!

    Hi Carl,

I would probably check out the user guide because we did try and highlight the many features of the Facebook integration. You can find it here:

    http://www.datasprings.comuserguide...rguide.pdf

There are basically multiple options... But basically if the user already exists then it will sign them in, depending on the features it might also go and find their email and sign them into the account with the matching email. Additionally you can use features to auto create the username (if they don't exist) which will create a username based on their Facebook UserID or Email (depending on the settings) and also setup the user with the first name, last name, email address, display name, etc... If you want to go a step further you can integrate Dynamic Registration and choose 'None' for the create user type in Facebook. What this will do is send all of the details to a silent post within Dynamic Registration which can then handle the creation of the user, any completion events that need to fire, or utilize any other special features of Dynamic Registration.

    Thanks!

    -Chad
