Hey,
I'd like to be able to auto login, is this something Dynamic Login can do? Similar to the silent http post Dynamic Registration can do, I would like to do an http post over SSL to auto log in a user to my DNN site. Is this possible?

Matt,
Hi. The feature for 'Auto Login' isn't directly possible with Dynamic Login at this time (more of a security issue then anything else). However... There is a new feature within Dynamic Registration 4.0 which allows for auto login... Within the email events you can try these tokens:
$(AutoApprove)
$(AutoApproveLink)
$(AutoApproveWLogin)
$(AutoApproveWLoginLink)
One automatically approves the user (in case your registration is set to private or verified) and the other will automatically approve and log the user into the system.

So the login form doesn't accept parameters via querystring or post?
I mean it has to receive the values from the form somehow doesn't it? |

HI, I tried to see if the username / password combo for the Dynamic Login accepts querystring for auto-login. The username can be read from the querystring but the password field isn't taking it. Perhaps due to security reason that you cannot pass the password along the querystring without it being encrypted or something. Furthermore, even if this works, I don't see a way to force the clicking of the login link though. -- David |

Hi,
We need to provide a client with auto login, and cannot have the registration link show on our site. Can we use Dynamic registration to do so, or is there another module more suitable.

I'm looking at page 52 of the User Guide for DL on auto sign-in, and I can't figure out where to do this (DL or DR) and precisely how to do this (as you know I'm not very technical). Can you help?

Hi Meredith - Basically if you have another component or a URL that passes the querystring variable AutoSignIn with a value of True (along with username and password) then the user can be auto signed in.

We have Dynamic Login and Dynamic Registration 4.0.10 with DNN 6.2.3.
When we try the AutoSignIn link to the Dynamic Login page (just like in the last post) the only thing that happens is the username field is populated with the username from the link, but it does not login. I wonder if we are not using the correct short name for the password field. We are using the default settings so I assumed the field name is just "password."
We are trying to email an autosignin link which takes visitors directly to an internal page for registered users. |
