Emails not being sent - tried everything

    I am not able to get Interactive User Import to send emails to the newly imported users. I have thoroughly read every post on this board and tried every option and it is not working. The log file reports the emails as sent.

    I also have dynamic registration setup on this system, dynamic forms  and opt-in email. Emails from all of these are sending as well as generic DNN emails, all SMTP settings are correct.

    To narrow down things I have tried with a small install of 4 users, I have tried having the emails sent only on initial import and also only on update and on both. I have tried my own email address as the to address and also a dynamic address $(Email), $(email) and $(EmailAddress)., each in separate attempts

    All of the log files say that the emails are being sent but I have not received one. here is an example:

    Hi James,

    Can you please check if the email function works in other areas of your site?  Please go to Admin, Newsletter and send yourself a test email from there.  If you receive this email, then it narrows it down to some IUI issue that we have to find.  If you don't receive the email, please go to Host, Host Settings and check your SMTP settings.  Let us know what happens.  Thanks!

    Hi Candace,

    Yes my Emails are sending from the generic DNN Newsletter component, as well as all of the other Datasprings modules I have installed: Dynamic Registration, Opt-InEmail and Dynamic Forms. It is just this one module that is not sending them.

    Chad helped me through email, he has it working on his install of 5.1.4 . Since there was a time limit on this we have had to use a different solution to send this email.

    It is not a deal breaker, Interactive Import has been a big help getting all of my clients members on to the site. The full suite of your modules are all working well together without any other problems.

    One item that would be a feature request in future module releases: It would be great if the Opt In Email Module (or any module) could pull data from the user registration datatable and send it individually to members. A personalized email with an update of the users registration info stored in DNN.

    Your collection of modules makes user management and communication on DNN an easy task. Great products!

    We are on IUI 2.0.10 and DNN Community 5.1.4.

    The strange thing is that it worked before and then stopped.  I read the other threads regarding the new fields being added by DNN to the SPROC and think I adjusted by added the CreatedByUserID field into a manuall call to invoked a new scheduler instance for iui and I see that every field is populated.  All other modules and email is working on the site so I'm thinking it might be the same thing that plagued this user...

    Earlier in this thread the poster said there was a resolution provided via email for his problem.  I am 99.9% certain it is the same issue as we are on same version of both DNN and IUI having the exact same issue and non-issues.  We have a client migration to DNN that is stalling at the worst possible time.  These emails are to tell the users of the site that they have been migrated to a new system and provide new login creds to them.   Hoping we can get this resolved and get a win for both of our companies.

    Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    The solution we used for this was actually a work around using Datasprings email module Opt-In-Email . We were able to import the users with IUI but not actually get an email to the users through this module. How we worked around this was we imported everyone with the same username, send each person an email letting them know their new account credentials (using Opt-In) and then set each account (thorough IUI) to force the user to update their password the first time they logged in.

    Opt - In Email can access most of the users infor except the password, so this was the only way we could work around it.

    Chad had said in an email to me that he had it working on his install, but I was not able to actually use this for my client's installation.
