    HI Chad,

    I am on v2.0 and when I try to export a list of users (I have 609 in the portal) it always gives me 609 results in the export file regardless of which role I choose. Although in the exported file it is listing the expire date if they do have the role I am choosing.

    Wondering if I am having a problem or is this the expected behavior.

    Hi. Thanks for the question. This is actually working as designed... When you export the role its not actually a 'filter' but rather an additional column that gets added to the excel export which includes the users expire date if they have that role. I think if they don't have the role it shows up as N/A etc...

    For what you are describing I think you should use Dynamic User Directory. With DUD you can also enable an Export to Excel for Admin's and then you will only see the results rendered on the page. So basically you could set the page to be 1000 per page and limited to 'Include Only ABC Role' and then you would get a full page of users just in that role. From there if you click the export icon it should give you that results set.

    I would like to ask for a feature request that the export feature only produce a list for the selected role and that only admin or host roles can choose to select the admin or host role to include in the export.

    Sometimes I just need a list of like 7 users in a role and I get nearly 800 in the excel export. It also has the host and admin account ids and passwords as well. Plus the excel sheet goes into the portal directory on the server. Not that people can get at unless they have ftp access but those admin and host passwords are sitting out there.

    Part of it is I would like to tell staff how they can do exports of roles without potentially letting them see those host passwords and give them a cleaner list as well.

    Thanks for your suggestion, Will.

    You might also consider using Dynamic User Directory's Export Feature to do this task.  This will allow you to filter by role and even search, then the export to Excel will be based on the resulting list.  Thanks!

    Hi Candace,

    Yes! I am a huge DUD fan and use it often.

    Let me clarify a bit. DUD is great for staff in that it does not include password. BUT sometimes I need that as host. That is when the User Import module comes in with issue I outlined above.

    What would give us the flexibility we need is if DUD had a feature that included password as a token but host (or perhaps a role like admin chosen by host) only could choose the role that could choose to include password in the template.

    Then I could expose the DUD module to any staff member (with staff not admin role) that wanted to use it to make a directory without the concern of them learning or accidentally exposing passwords while allowing host/admin to pull those out if needed.

    Make sense? I hope this would be easy to add to DUD - I guess I am asking for a feature request for that but we are not in that forum are we?
