I have a DUD filtered to include 100 people from a team.  This team is split into 10 offices - I want people to be able to search by office, with a default being the head office.

I can make the default option "Head Office" but although it is selected in the drop-down list the search isn't actually performed until the search button is clicked.

I understand the functionality of the &AutoSearch URL parameter, but since the DUD is on a page that will be access directly through the DNN menu system I can't append that parameter to the URL.

Is it possible to have the DUD start with the search results of the default values?

    Thanks

    Matt

Yes, you should be able to set this under the DUD module configuration. There's an option to "automatically display search results". -- David

Thanks David - but I can't find that option anywhere - Could you point me in the right direction?

HI, if you go to Module Configuration / Search, you should see an entry:
Initialize No Records: (a checkbox saying "Display no results until search"). Make sure this is unchecked. -- David

Unfortunately this still doesn't seem to be working - On page load I am seeing all results, although the dropdown list is set to the option I chose to be my default.

I have summarised my key settings below:

    Module configuration
    Records: 10
    Repeat: 2 (hor)
    Sort: firstname (asc)
    Exclude: No groups
    Excel: No groups
    Auth only: No
    Paging: enabled
Init no records: Unchecked (also tried checked)
    Hide search cond: Check
    Show validation summary: Unchecked
    Filter: Department begins with "Communities"

    Search
    Field: Department
    Criteria: Equals
    Label: Team
    Default value: "Communities - National"
Input values: [SQL statement] including the result "Communities - National" (optionText and optionValue are equal and text based)
    Condition: AND
    Searchable: Check
    Sortorder: NULL
Required value: Check (also tried unchecked)

Any ideas what might be going wrong - are you able to get something like this working on your systems?

    Thanks, Matt

Hi, your settings are correct but now I realize it won't work the way you want it to. The only way to get it to work is to pass along the "autosearch" querystring but since you are accessing it from a DNN menu, I don't know of a way to append this querystring unless you are calling it from a URL link. Perhaps someone else on the forum have some thoughts on this. -- David
