I'm having a few issues and questions with the Interactive User Import module. I'm going to post them in different topics. Here's the first:

I'm trying to update user records (specifically security roles) by importing a CSV file. However, we don't know the usernames, we only know the email addresses.

So how can I import a CSV file with email addresses, and tell the system to update a specific security role? 

When I try it, it won't update without a username.

Any ideas on how to do this?

To add to my question on this, if I know the username ONLY and try to do an import, it automatically blanks out the rest of the core DNN fields including firstname, lastname, email address, and displayname. How do I resolve this? what should happen is that it updates the DNN role but leaves the core fields alone, shouldn't it?

Here's what I found out:

The system requires the username for imports except for the latest version which allows you to choose an alternate profile field to base updates on.

On the other hand, when you use the username, it will automatically update the user credentials which are the first name, last name, email and display name.  It's coming up blank because it's updating these credentials with blank values from the import.
