My client is using the Dynamic Registration and also purchased this Interactive User Import module. The problem I see form testing is this:

We are trying to import a large CSV file with all the user's data using this module, but it does not seem I can easily get it to import the roles accordingly for each user. We have about 20 different security roles. I can not create an event to add a user to a role for each role based on a fields answer, the form does not dictate what role(s) they are a part of based off a fields answer.

I have used other DNN user import modules, and generally you just have a column in your CSV file that is of the user's roles and then it imports them. What is the best way to get the user's roles imported using this module?

    Thanks
    Dustin

HI, I don't believe this would work. You can create DNN role events in the import to add users to a certain role but it would add all users to that role and I believe your desire is to have certain unique roles assigned to different users. The best way to accomplish this would be in my opinion, to use an SQL query.

You would still use IUI to import all the users. But then generate your own SQL statement to insert user roles into the userroles table based on the userid, etc obtained from the users table. Note that you would need to create all the roles first as well. -- David To
