    Hello,
    We have successfully been running DUD for a few years now and recently it was brought to our attention that some of the users which have opted to display in the directory are not showing.
    We have not done anything to the system recently and the last core upgrade was several months ago (although that doesnt mean that the system didnt break then and just was not noticed until now).
    Our current setup is as follows:
    DNN v4.9.5
    DUD v2.4.0
    Dynamic Registration v3.10.23

    In Dynamic Registration we have a radio button for being listed in the directory. If yes is selected, it sets a core dnn field (ListInDirectory = True).
    Our Directory has filter which reads [ListInDirectory] [contains] [True].
    Our Directory only displays users with the "homeowner" role.
    This used to work just fine. It still works for some records but other it does not.

    If I need to upgrade, that is fine, but I need to be sure that this will be fixed. Please let me know what I need to do and if I need to upgrade will I just need to upgrade DUD?

    Hi Steven,

    I will definitely recommend upgrading to Dynamic User Directory 3.0 and Dynamic Registration 4.0 to get all the new features and enhancements as the first step.

    If you wish, you can test it out first at our test site, www.betasprings.com (log in with host  /  dnnhost ) then just create your own test pages.

    Thanks for the recommendation, however this does not answer my questions.

    I need to be sure that my problems will be fixed before dropping more $$$.

    Is there any way to help me with our current setup?

    I realize that both modules will provide me benefits, but I cannot upgarde at this time if it is not critical.
    I am attempting to fix a bug/problem in our system.

    It seems like the problem is with DUD.
    Will the latest version of DUD work with Dynamic Registration v3.1.23?

    Hi Steven,

    There is the option of using the trial versions on your site to for a 21-day test period (both Dynamic Registration and DUD have trial versions).  However, if you install the trial version and it doesn't work out for you, you can't go back to the old version unless you uninstall the module.  Doing so will delete all your existing forms/DUD setup.

    I would prefer that you evaluate it on our test site as I mentioned.  This has the latest versions of the modules so you can simulate your scenario and see how well it works for you.

    Candace,

    We have attempted several other things and nothing seems to fix.
    I will share what we have learned and then our plan and see if you may be able to help us.
    1. The problem is only in one portal. The other two in the installation that are setup with DUD and DR in a similar manner were not effected and still work normaill like they have for several years (this makes me believe that it is not an issue that was caused by upgrading the DNN core)
    2. I have attempted to reinstall both DUD and Dynamic Registration. This did not fix the problem.
    However I did notice that DR was upgraded from v3.1 to v3.2 (I didn’t realize we were running an older version than what we had purchased)
    3. we have a question during registration which asks if the user wants to be listed in the directory. This sets a field in the profile called "ListInDirectory" In the two working portals this is either yes or no. In the faulty portal it is True or False. They are setup identically as yes/no radio buttons in all 3 portals.
    4. Updating my directory opt-in through my profile page on the faulty portal does not change the ListInDirectory Field. (this is the case for new members- who do not show in the directory and existing members who do show in the directory). It works fine in the other two portals.
    5. In the faulty portal, I was able to manually make an existing member disappear by setting his ListInDirectory=False through the Core user admin and then reappear by editing his profile (which turned it back to true) However it does not work the other way. I cannot remove a member from the directory by updating their profile.
    6. Any new records that I create do not show in the DUD no matter what I do. I have created a test directory and no matter what I set it to, the new users that I create will not display.

    Here is our plan.
    Tomorrow I will back up the entire install and then download your trials.
    I will upgrade DUD and then DR and see if the upgrades fix the problem.
    If it is fixed, we will purchase the upgrades and be done. If it is not fixed can I provide you with a login to help assist and trouble shoot?
    I think we had spoken with Chad a while back and he was very helpful.
    Please let me know how I should contact you with this information (I do not want to post it in a public forum for obvious reasons).

    Ok.
    I ran the upgrade to the trial version of DUD 3.0 and I recieved a SQL error and failure during the install process. My existing directories are no longer working.
    I will forward you a copy of the intall log.

    The upgrade to version 3 fixed my DUD problem and i will be purchasing the license.
    I still have a problem with Dynamic Registration but I will post that in the appropiate forum.
