I want to list profile data for a user other than the current user in Tailored HTML.  How can I do this?  I can pass the userid via a querystring;  How can I make TT retrieve the data/tkjens?

HI, go to Tailored Text/HTML settings, and under "Tailored Initial SQL Data Bind", you can type in your SQL query with the following:

select * from tablename where userid = '$(UserID)'

replacing tablename with whatever tablename you are trying to retrieve the user profile columns from. Also be sure to check the box "Enable initial SQL data bind:". See if this will work for you. If possible, list your SQL statement here. Thanks. -- David

I don't think I made it clear just what I am trying to do.

The user profile tokens listed on the Edit Tailoed Text/HTML page are for the current logged in user. I need profile field tokens for a different user. The userid will be passed via a querystring variable &ASID.

Using an init SQL Bind query like select * from users WHERE UserID ='$(ASID)'
will not work and probably would not fetch all profile fields anyway.

The ASID is being passed OK from the query string. TT creates the ASID token and the value iis correct.

is there a way to fetch Profile fields using the querystring variavle?

Hi - I am trying to do the same as described in the 01-Aug-2010 post, i.e., display profile data in TT for a user other than the current logged in user. Any instructions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Hello,

There's a possibility that some of the columns being returned have the same exact names as some of the built in tokens, for instance firstName is a column in the table users, so when you say Select * from Users your bringing back many columns that are already existent tokens.

Please let me know which table you need to retrieve information, if it's the Users table you will name out all of the columns your selecting and provide aliases for them, to make sure a token gets generated for that field.

    This format:

SELECT FirstName As TheFirstName, LastName As TheLastName from Users

This will bring back these two columns and generate two tokens: "TheFirstName" and "TheLastName"

Just make sure to have unique names when trying to generate tokens with Tailored Text/HTML module.

    This is the WRONG format:

    Select * from users

    OR

    Select FirstName, LastName from Users

If you have any questions please let me know.

    Thanks,

    Ryan

    Hello Jim,

You're attempting to use SQL Binding in Tailored Text/HTML and this is your query:

Select * from Users where UserID = '$(UserID)'

If not, can you provide me an example query that you're using.

    Thanks,

    Ryan
