I'm attempting to run an import (actually an UPDATE) or users. The scheduler runs the job but it reports it as having failed.  How can I tell WHY it failed.  I see no detailed report or log file. I checked the scheduler history for the Interactive User Import Job but there are no details.

    Hi Greg,

Try it with logging enabled as this will provide more a more detailed log that could provide specifics on what is causing the problem.

    Thanks!

I did that. I even ran the import again making SURE logging was checked.  Where would I go to see the details? I'm assuming HOST- SCHEDULE - HISTORY. But there is nothing else to click on or view there.

And something strange I noticed.  The DURATION of the job is at 4200 seconds and climbing with each refresh of the page. This tells me that it's running??  There are only 400 records to "import" so I don't see how it can be taking that long or still running. Very odd.

It's possible for a big file to take that long, especially when logging is enabled.  Can you please try a smaller file with logging and see how that works?  Thanks!

Interesting. It processed 501 records and took 22 hours. Wow!

It apparently didn't update any information and reported "success = false". Where is the "log" files stored?

Wow is right! That is a very long time...

The log is stored in the area you think... Can you please:

    1. Run a smaller file just to make sure it processes faster. Maybe just 10 records...
    2. Enable Logging on step 4
    3. Copy/Paste the log details that appear there

    Thanks,

    Chad

The number of records didn't seem to matter - the scheduler showed the job as "running" for a long time. In my last case I waited an hour then I went into the HOST settings and Restarted the application. After doing that, the log trace showed up in the scheduler. Very weird. I gotta think that that is a bug on the DNN scheduler or the import module because no matter what import I run, the job never seems to quit unless I restart DNN.

Hi Greg - Yes, now might be a good time to ask what version of DNN you are running on. This for sure is weird and I am not really sure what would cause such a delay and/or not finish. Do other jobs finish in the scheduler?

This is also a good time to maybe ask about your hosting platform. Is this a shared or dedicated host? Do you have a single web site / virtual directory setup or multiple pointing to the same server etc?
