    Hi there,

This module looks very promising for what we need. One question though...

I have csv file with about 8.000 users on the (local) company server, which gets updated a few times a day with new users, deleted users and updated profiles. The DNN site is hosted on a remote server. Is it possible with this module to schedule the import (upload + import) of this csv file from a remote server?

    Thank you

    HI Sean,

Yes, it's possible to schedule your imports and even set it up as recurring imports.  From the Interactive User Import page, please find the trial version on the left column to test it out.  Let us know if you have other questions. Thanks!

    Hi Candace,
    Thanks for your reply.

I've tried the trial version, but so far I have managed to schedule the import of a csv file which is allready located on the DNN webserver. Correct me if I am wrong but it seems that scheduling the uploading of a new csv file from my local company server is not possible with this module?

    thanks again

Hi Sean - Sorry for the confusion, that is correct you can't schedule a file to be imported from your system or anything onto the web server. So basically wherever/whatever is generating that file will need to get placed onto the web server. Typically in situations such as this you would have a DTS package on a SQL Server that would be scheduled to spit out a CSV file, or maybe wherever/whatever is generating it would do a copy into the server folder or maybe have a schedule FTP task that would handle this. I guess it really matters what process is generating that file.

Once the file is placed on the folder though (say nightly) then Interactive User Import could pick it up nightly and process it etc...

    Thanks,

    Chad

    Hi Chad,

Thanks for your answer! It helped me to find the solution of how to get a csv file on the webserver. My FTP program (Ipswitch) has a scheduler that can do this part of the import, as you suggested, and the module can take over from there.

    Thanks for the support.

    Sean
