I am trying to add a search functionality on a page that will key in on document titles listed in document modules. I have set visibility minimized on it as it is requested by my sponsor.

I have included a text/html module on the page to contain javascript. The javascript code that i included searches page based on keywords entered but since my document module is minimized it cannot find the documents listed within.

So how can i control the visibility using javascript (expand/collapse)? can i use getelementbyid() function?

    Text/Html module version: 04.09.05
    Document module version: 04.01.00
    DNN version: 04.09.05

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello Hardik,

I would recommend using the document.getElementById() function but instead of getting the field's id I would grab the
tag that the field is in. That way you can show and hide the section instead of just that element.

    I hope this helps.

    Please let me know.

    Thanks,

    Ryan

    Hi Ryan,

I dont have a lot of experience with DNN. Could you please tell me where would i find the tag for my document module. Is it the name? Could you possibly give me a code snippet to explain the same?

    I appreciate your help.

    Thanks,
    Hardik

    Hello Hardik,

It seems that the tag that I explained to use didn't show up because it rendered the tag.

You will use the DIV tag to hide and show the section. Use the id of this tag for hiding and showing the section.

This is sort sort like this demonstration, the way the submit button is shown and hidden:

If you have any questions please let me know.

    Thanks,

    Ryan
