We are trying to configure version 4.0 and are running into major slow downs when updating this module after making any changes.

Also, we are currently using searches for Display Name and Last Name but when we put a name in to the display name field and click search, it basically returns a list of 50+ names, always the same no matter what you search for, and always in alphabetical order. There are no additional pages of search results.

    What do we have wrong?

I noticed we have version 4.0 but when I click on the user guide, it is the user guide for 3.0.

    Thanks.

    Best,

    Ian

    Hi Ian,
What you have here are three questions in one. So let me address each individually. The slow downs are something that can be a result of a number of things that we may need some more detailed information to be able to help you better. I am forwarding this question to other support people to see if they have any ideas that can help.
For the part where you are saying that the searches are coming back the same then I would need to see how your search criteria are set up. Can you send more information on this? Maybe if I have credentials to your site I could go in and look at how the search criteria are set up then I could see better what is going on. You can contact us form if you want to connect with us for this.

You are right some of our user guides are not up to date per versions. We haven't been able to get around to updating them yet but that is on the list.

    Hi Don,

Thanks for the help. We believe we've been able to solve some of the issues I brought up before with a little extra elbow grease. We do have one more lingering issue we were hoping you could help us with:

There are certain users we know are in our database that do not show up in the searches. It seems like it is a very small handful of users that do not show up.

Under search fields, the search is set only to look for display names, the criteria is 'contains', condition is 'and' and it's a required field.

Under module configuration, the sort field: lastname, additional sort field: username, include users by role (and we know these users have the role that is searchable).

So we're kind of stuck. Can you help?

    Thanks.

    Best,

    Ian

    Hi Ian,
For a starter go into the area of the control panel where the search is set up and edit it so that the condition has an "OR" where the criteria is a "contains". Then see what you get. If you are adding a new user during the process go into the Host>Scheduler and click update to get the scheduler to run to update the results.

Also under Host>SQL you can run the following queries as they might help with figuring things out:

    Select * from TempDUDPivot

    And
    Select * from TempDUDProfile

    Hi Don,

The 'OR' switch didn't seem to work. The issue is this is not a newly provisioned user, but rather one we have had in our system for a very long time.

We are happy to do the SQL query, but what would the results of the query be/what would they tell us?

    Thanks.

    Ian
