I have search criteria set up for my users, and it seems to get into this mode where it stops working. I click the "Search" link and literally nothing happens - no evidence of an AJAX transaction or the usual progress bars. No search results. The link is showing that it's tied to do the Javascript "__do_postback()" but nothing happens.

    IE9, DNN 5.6, Latest/Greatest DUD.

In the past I've had some luck getting things working again by restarting the app and recycling the app pool for my site, but at this point it's just stopped responding. I've gone so far as to reboot the app server and no joy. Any help appreciated - of course this starts to happen just when I am about to give the client a feature demo!!

    Hi Robert,
Let me just ask you to try a few quick things. How about if you try and run it in firefox instead of IE and see if you get the same results. I assume your instance of DNN is 5.6.2. Please let us know if it isn't. Also what is the version of your DUD? Is it the latest version? If you can go over to www.BetaSprings.com and put your setup with DUD there then we can look at it together. This provides the opportunity to see if it runs there but not on your machine. The login to betasprings is host, dnnhost. Please reply with a response to me by email  with the contact us link at: http://www.datasprings.com/contact-us
I will look for your response here and there.
    Thanks

You might also try a different browser to see if its specific to IE. What we typically will do in these situations is use FireFox and enable FireBug, specifically the 'Console' portion of FireBug. This will then tell us if there are any JavaScript errors on the page (possibly a conflict with the jQuery version of the site, skin, containers, etc...)

    Thanks!

I'm once again in the situation where search has stopped working. I've tried it using both Firefox/Firebug and IE9/DevTools. The search function is called, but zero results are returned. I've gone so far as to eliminate all but one search field from the form and searched for a well-known existing value. No results. I've unchecked the box for "Display No Records Until Search" and even then the list is *empty*.

I've noticed several strange things: The search field definitions get out of whack. For example, a search field for "Postal Code" suddenly gets associated with the wrong label. This seems to occur as I massage my profile fields. I also noticed that for custom profile fields, unless I included them in the HOST profile fields list, it is never made available as a choice to search on, despite it being present at the Portal Level and populated at the portal level. I am using Dynamic Registration to create some of these custom fields, but using it's "Quick Create" function, they get created at the Portal, and not the Host, so I find I have to manually add my custom profile fields to Host as well.

I'm suspecting that the index/db tables for this module are hopelessly out of joint at this point - I have tried forcing the scheduler task to run manually, and that's made no difference.

Any suggestions that don't require me ripping out everything and starting from scratch?
