I would probably need to see an example (working or not) to give some advise on this but yes, I am sure this can happen. You might have to do a few things such as:
1. Setup a hyperlink on instance 1 that points to instance 2 and passes the primary key for each record (which is really dsparam1). Sometimes if you used our wizards this would have been DynamicForms_ResultsID)
2. The 2nd instance would either need to have this field setup as a search field or it would need to use the free form query option. Note:you can pass query string parameters around for hidesearch=true and autosearch=true.
