I'm sure this is simple once you know the trick. I have a dymanic form on website A and I want to show that form on website B through a DNN IFrame module (placed in website B) I have this set up fine. The tricky part is passing the simple parameter OrgID=1 from Site B where the IFrame is to Site A where the form is.

In the form, I have set the OrgID field to retrieve its value from the querystring. Is that the right way to do it?

In the iframe, I added a parameter OrgID  Pass-Through QueryString (1)

The OrgID field on the form is a visible textbox so I can see if the value is coming through. But I can not get that value to come through.  Can you tell me how to change this setup to work? Thanks!

Hi. Did you enable the feature 'Retrieve value from querystring' for this field? If you load the page without the IFRAME does it work with the querystring variable?

    Thanks,

Chad, thanks for your time. Yes, I did have the retrieve value from querystring enabled. After your post, I tried loading the page directly with the querystring and it worked fine. - which brings me back to surmising that I'm not using the settings in the iFrame module correctly.

In the iframe module, if I enter the exact link including the querystring, that works well too. I'ts not imperative that I make this work using the parameters setting in the iFrame, I just want to pass the variable and that is accomplished in ths manner. - moving on.

Taking the process this far has uncovered the next issue - that parameter is available to only the page in the link. The target page has general info on it and links to other pages in that subweb including the important one with the Dynamic form on it. The DF page is not the target of the iframe link. I realize I might be stepping out-of-scope of this support forum with the next question - but it is related.

How do I pass the parameter from the landing page to other pages linked to it when a user follows a link?

I suppose it was wishful thinking to hope that using the parameters setting of the iframe module would make the variable available to all the pages that would randomly be viewed through the iFrame. Could it be used this way?

I tried putting a small Dynamic Form on the landing page, set to get its OrgID value from the query string and pass it into a session variable, however it appears that the "Submit" button must be clicked in order to create that session variable. Is there a way around that requirement?

If answering the questions above reveal that the way I'm going about this will not work, I'd welcome your suggestion.

The overall goal here is to allow multiple clients of mine use the same Dynamic Form on my site, but communicate to my DF on the way in who they are by communicating the OrgID. This is so I can provide the same form to multiple clients without the hassle of installing it on all their websites and also upgrading their form design each time I improve the form. I want to code just one form and use it many places through iFrames.

    Thanks a bunch.
