I am looking to use dynamic views but what I need may be out of its range of functionality.

I have a table with 30000 rows and I was hoping I could filter the data data via SQL instead of bringing it all back and filtering - which I tried and will not work.

I have a stored procedure and first wanted to use a filter option(s) as the parameters.  is this possible?

I can also create a view but the where clause would have to be done prior to bringing back the data. is that possible?

Any ideas on how to do this using views or forms somehow?

    Hello Steve,

If you have the latest Dynamic Views and latest patch installed then you can enable Allow Free Form and call a stored procedure to generate columns.

However any search fields will no longer work as expected when enabling this feature. Any search fields you have will become tokens that you can use.

Soo... say that you have this all configured, then you can do the following, for instance say the name of your stored procedure is sp_ReturnResults.

Then your custom SQL could look like this:

    Exec Sp_ReturnResults '$(SearchField1)', '$(SearchField2)'

Then you would have to make your stored procedure accept your search field parameters so you can use these values to filter the data returned in your where clause.

If you have any questions please let me know.

    Thanks,

    Ryan
